for a broody elf, fenris has interesting expressions

fenris has some of the best facial animations and the widest variety of expressions in the game, and when you compare the deeply grooved snarl of his mouth and the knit of his dark brows when you first meet him in the shadows to the broad spectrum of blinks and stares and i see that you are ‘joking’ because you think you are ‘funny’ moments, the vulnerability he shows or even the twitch of a thief-quick smile… that’s hawke’s influence, drawing on something beneath the armor, coaxing it to light with all the inexorability of strong fereldan hands. and that’s fenris’s own doing, too, when he turns to face the proverbial tiger, as so much more than a cornered animal. how subtle and how brave—for someone who wears his deepest scars where everyone can see them.

Aivopesty

Aivopesty has an extraordinarily mesmerising, gorgeous and very distinctive style that captures the spirit of Fenris, her favourite subject, perfectly. She shows a softer side of him with watercolours and draws the most amazing puppy eyes I have ever seen on him, but she is also splendid at showing darker, intriguing scenes that one instantly can see so many stories in. Then there is the melancholy and sharp angles, intense eyes, tender moments as well as some truly dark twists I adore, and it is all absolutely marvellous.

He looks terrific when she puts him in modern au’s, as well, in various different styles. She has truly perfected the elf noses and mastered drawing Fenris, but he is not the only one she draws! She is able to create a fantastic Isabela as well, for example - in fact, she has made one of the most gorgeous pictures of Isabela that I have ever seen! Her Sebastian is quite a sight as well, as is her Anders - especially in a cabaret outfit.

Her proportions, colours and shadings are all wonderful; when she posts something, my day instantly becomes more beautiful. I hope you will have the time to browse her art tag all the way through - everything she has created is stunning, and I hope to see much much more of her work in the future!

Wow, I certainly did troll the entire thing. It was very worth it. Just scrolling through your archive, the sheer multitude of consistently astounding pieces was actually alarming. I was constantly checking to see if one person could have created such a diverse body of work. That gallery is a goldmine, for fenris fangirls especially.

You have mastered so many different techniques, I love an artist who is willing to challenge themself with new things. and you are able to communicate so much through these tools that you have aquired. I particularly love the busts that you do, they are just perfect, self-contained beauties.  

One thing that I appreciate above anything else, is the way you are able to create a face and body that is anatomically correct and natural, while never limiting the pure expression that is felt in the challenging poses and emotion that you choose to portray.

oh, how i love the colors in this. there’s a certain warmth, a glow, like kirkwall at dawn, but despite the light on his skin, his face is turned away from it, into quiet shadow. and the rougher lines that narrow to something so precise, so delicate, but only in his profile—he’s so tricky to pin down, and his expression so unreadable, and this captures the best of that difficulty. lost in thoughts, lost in the past, lost in the present shadows—but also in the midst of finding himself in his thoughts, in his past, in his present shadows. it’s truly beautiful.
